One day, a friend asked if I wanted to work on a game about a young boy's dream to fly in a rocketship.

The boy's name was Chicho (aka Francisco). A child who lives on his father's ranch in Mexico.

I didn't grow up in Mexico but the team believe my own personal experience would be helpful in making a considerate game and I joined them on their project.

This would be the first time I worked as an external collaborator for a game not as an artist.

By this point in development, a majority of the core VR programming for the HTC Vive was done, along with some sketched narrative storyboards.

I focused on looking through their playtesting footage, digging through the game files, and coming up with ideas for a more lively world.

A few of my suggestions improved the house's layout and added more puzzles.

Nearing the end of the quarter, there wasn't much time left to make any large scale changes. The team wisely decided to focused on polishing the game and any finishing touches to the controllers.

With all our hard work, the game won the Impact Award for the UCSC 2021 game showcase.

I enjoyed working with this team and I hope others can appricate this lovely game.
