Moving Forward

For this project, a few classmates and I made a team together with myself working as a technical artist. We began brainstorming ideas on what we should make.

Gradually the conversation drifted to how strange it was finally being back in the game lab after spending a whole year away from the pandemic.

We decided it was an important thing to talk about, and wanted a way to address something that was hard to express directly.

One of the artists drafted up a script and stepped up to became the game's official narrator. The programmers created the collision for the sound event triggers. We rummaged around audio libraries for sound clips that would seem familiar yet strange to players.

Originally the architectual layout of the environment was going to be much more complex. Instead we wanted focused on the audio exploration rather than the physical layout.

The chaoticness of the city would become the main floor and the bustling nature on the rooftop.

I made the shaders for the color shifting world while the others worked on the menus and dialogue.

As of right now, the game isn't published but a full playthrough was recorded. I'll try to see if the project can be released since it's such a delightful game.
